A traditional pattern expressed with modern elegance
The *Ichimatsu* (checkerboard) pattern is rendered using Koshu-ori jacquard weaving. The use of solid-colored threads creates a refined luster, while the canopy is stretched using Ramuda’s signature "Tani-ochi-bari" (valley-fold tension) technique, resulting in an umbrella that is both elegant and possesses an oriental flair. We took the popular *Ichimatsu* motif from our men's line and enlarged it slightly, adding a touch of softness and elegance suited for women. The two-tone trim sharpens the overall look, lending an air of dignified poise.
Designed in the British "slim-roll" style, the umbrella maintains a sleek, compact profile when closed, ensuring a beautiful silhouette whether you are carrying it or using it.
A distinctive bamboo handle
The handle is crafted from *kanchiku* (cold-resistant bamboo) featuring natural nodes, making it comfortable for women to hold.
As the placement of the nodes varies, each handle possesses a unique character that is a delight to appreciate.
The addition of a tassel further enhances the feminine aesthetic.
We recommend air-drying the umbrella in the shade overnight before storing it.
